Meeting Oprah Winfrey

17 Oct Meeting Oprah Winfrey

Everything happens when it’s supposed to. I learned this powerful lesson a few years ago. I’ve always wanted to meet Oprah Winfrey. I love her and admire how she lives her truth and has used her life to empower people globally. I thought, “I’m going to speak this into reality.” So, I talked about her like we had a date to meet!

I had also been asking God for years how to use my life to make a difference in the lives of others. I didn’t want to just live my life just pursuing money or a career. He was listening. In 2006, I was diagnosed with aggressive breast cancer. I was terrified of what might happen to me, and if I died, what would happen to my then 3-year old daughter. I prayed to God and asked him how to use my life in service to others.

His answer was to begin the Tigerlily Foundation ( Through Tigerlily Foundation, I began to reach other young women living with breast cancer. Still in my “shell” of a world, where I thought I should be, I was scared to emerge out of my cocoon and truly live. However, as I started helping others, my focus shifted to them, not me… today, we offer 14 programs to young breast cancer survivors. So, if you want to support us through sponsorship, donate or get help, visit our website! My first wish had come true!

One day, my second wish manifested. I got a call from the Oprah Winfrey Show. Sitting next to her and sharing my mission and purpose changed my life. Thanks Oprah!

Join me and Tigerlily Foundation to make the wishes of millions of young breast cancer survivors come true. This October, during breast cancer awareness month, donate, share, sponsor and volunteer. Join our movement! I am so proud to connect with you here on The Wishwall and to collaborate with  The Wishwall Foundation and  The Celebrity Wishmaker Simonetta Lein.
