23 Jul Joy Project Challenge
On the 4th October 2014 I stepped on stage in my first (and last) bikini contest, which marked the beginning of a descent that had been a long time coming as had the goal of achieving this body.
It’s a strange feeling when you get what you always wanted but it leaves you feeling empty & worse than before. All the external stuff – looks, money, careers, relationships – they can only bring joy if you have what really matters already.
That’s the Joy of loving who you are, of being a good person, showing respect, love & compassion to others and yourself.
I’m glad I fell down because the Joy Project evolved out of my journey back up and it’s made me – in Christina Aguilera’ s words “stronger, a fighter” and a better person.
This year on the 4th October, 4 years later I will be flying to the US to listen to and be with people who inspire & motivate me to keep on learning, sharing & following my joy- @jennykem
Life throws out really tough lessons but also amazing opportunities…learn from the lessons and seize every amazing, scary opportunity you get.
