I would like to make a community center

16 Sep I would like to make a community center

My wish is to build a community center for the people in my community.

This would be a place where people of all ages could go to enrich their lives. Students can get academic tutoring, job search assistance, take a class, participate in a group, college planning, take a financial literacy class, help with taxes, GED classes, babysitting and parenting workshops, and a number of other services. Eventually I would really like it to host a number of Nightlife classes as well.
Nightlife is the night adult school in the city where I live. I currently live in Worcester, Massachusetts.
Worcester has a population of 184,508 and is home to 9 colleges. I feel my community would benefit from a center like this because it could help a diverse group of people.
Teenagers and young adults could especially benefit from this because it will guide them to becoming self sufficient.

I never finished my degree so I am really ambivalent about posting this. I just think the good people of Worcester deserve something like this so everyone has an opportunity for the life they want.

I plan to have volunteers and hopefully enough money to pay my staff $15 at least and full benefits. I want to be a good economic model for a nonprofit.

Thank you so much for posting your wish to build a community center for the people in your community. I’m Akasha Garnier and I’ve been writing the Future Entrepreneurs blog for 6 months. You posted your wish under my section, so I wanted to reach out to you. First of all, yes it is always worth it to talk and write about your dreams and goals, Do not worry about your level of education, many entrepreneurs have life skills and mentors who have helped them learn what they need to know, and meet the right people in their field. What is your name please? I you would like to email me, will send you a gratis copy of my book Secrets to Shine Through the Noise to help you refine your goals and create an action plan. I also suggest that you get in touch with the current community center in your area. Is it the YMCA? The YWCA? Or Red Cross? Meeting people in your field will help. You could volunteer and start networking to meet and attract people who will share your dream and eventually help your wish come true. My entrepreneur blog is on clarity and attracting your tribe tomorrow, so please stay tuned! Thank you for posting and for sharing your wonderful wish. 🙂 Wherever you are on your journey, believe it’s worth the trip! All the best, Akasha
