29 Dec Chasing Education
As a girl growing up in a country like Philippines where education is being held high yet so hard to reach, everyone made a goal, so as me. I want to finish my education. Philippines is what other countries call “The Rising Tiger”of Asia as our economy is the second to Japan. With all the investments to the country stocks and businessmen what most people who knows nothing except poverty is that we’re unable to grow. More than half of the people in the country can’t afford education. Some schools are public, yes,but with the level of poverty even simple expenses can’t be paid. Most people are unemployed and uneducated and the government is full of corrupt politicians. I’ve finished elementary and now I’m in my junior high. Studying to a public Science High school, most of my classmates came from private school so they can lessen the expenses made for education. Most of my batch mates in elementary stopped for their parents can’t afford to send them to school and they are forced to have jobs to help their family. Even though I’m studying at a public high school my parents are still having a hard time getting expenses for my education. I want to help my family thinking the three of us siblings are studying. I want to finish my studies like attending a good university and having a degree to be proud of. Like what my best friend told me I can go to universities abroad because I can speak multiple languages but I’m always thinking about the fees. Of course we can’t afford it so I might as well studying to a local university and find a job.
My desire is that I Hope you can help me and other children achieve their education goals.
For what my Elementary School Principal always say ” Poverty is not a hindrance to success of Education”.
